Our Story

The vision of Great Day Ministries came to Elder David W. Jenkins in 1998. Founder Jenkins started this ministry by hosting bible study in his home in Browns Mills, New Jersey. In 1999, Great Day moved to the basement of Elder Dexter Polnitz in Willingboro, New Jersey before branching to the Country Lake Firehouse in Browns Mills. After the death of Pastor Jenkins in 2001, Elder Polnitz became interim Pastor and was installed as Senior Pastor in February of 2002. In 2004, Elder Polnitz moved the church to the Eastampton Fire House. From Eastampton the ministry moved to a location in Cherry Hill, New Jersey until finding our home in Mount Laurel, New Jersey where we continue to spread the infallible written Word of God.

Dexter L. Polnitz

Elder Dexter L. Polnitz is an honest and devoted Man Of God. He married his high school sweetheart, Evangelist Tonion A. Polnitz (Foreman) , in March of 1992. Polnitz studied Philosophy and Religion at TCNJ, formally known as Trenton State College, where he graduated with a Bachelors of Science. In 1996, he was ordained Elder under the leadership of The Late Pastor Jerry Foreman. Following the passing of our Founder Pastor David W. Jenkins, Polnitz was called to pastorship in 2005.  Elder Polnitz also has a BA in Bible Theology and Christian Counseling from Cairn University. Pastor Polnitz is also an incredible father this to his children; Takia, Tatiana Deshawn and Deamon. 

Tonion A. Polnitz

Evangelist Tonion A. Polnitz is a creative and multitalented Virtuous Woman of God. She takes pride in leading our Warrior Women Unite Women's department and is also the founder of Gems and Pearls Mentoring Program. Evangelist Polnitz earned her cosmetology license in 2008 from PB Cosmetology.  In 2011, she was ordained Evangelist under the leadership of Pastor Polnitz She stands beside Pastor Polnitz as a god-fearing supportive wife and mother to Takia, Tatiana, Deshawn and Deamon. 

Elder Eleanor Johnson

Co-pastor 

A native of Savannah, GA who currently resides in Wilmington, Delaware. She has been blessed with one daughter Shantae Jenkins and two granddaughters Jurnee and Geonna. Elder Johnson was reared as a child by her father, Edward Jenkins and her late mother Elease Jenkins in Newark NJ, and was a member of Holy Temple Church ofGod and Christ. As a servant leader she has honorably served our nation in the capacity of the US Navy and US Postal Service for thirty-six years. Elder Johnson joined the Narrow Way COGIC in Newark, NJ under the leadership of Pastor, Dr. David Ware in 1982. She has traveled globally as an active duty member serving God’s people sharing her faith and the Word of God. Throughout the years Elder Johnson has faithfully served under the leadership of Elder Dexter Polnitz of Great Day Ministries Inc., NJ. Elder Johnson is presently an Associate Pastor with Great Day Ministries, DE, under the leadership of Elder Dexter Polnitz and Lady Tonion Polnitz. Elder Johnson began her Christian studies at NJ Bible Institute and studied Bible and Theology at the Sure Foundation Theological Institute and Nexus Biblical Institute. Elder Johnson was ordained an Elder at Great Day Ministries, NJ on July 2,2021. Under the unction of the Holy Spirit, Elder Johnson loves lifting and building God’s people and his Kingdom by ministering and preaching God’s unadulterated truth. Elder Johnson is an anointed Woman of God, a prayer intercessor… To God be the Glory for all that He has done!

Elder Angie Simpson

 A native of Dothan, Alabama who currently resides in New Castle, Delaware. Pastor Angie is a servant leader and woman of God who loves the Lord with all of her heart. She is God’s anointed sent to preach good tidings unto the meek; sent to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound —Isaiah 61:1. Pastor Angie married her high school sweetheart, October 5,1985 and began a new life as a military spouse. She is the wife of Dr. Calvin John Simpson Jr., US Army retired. Pastor Angie is his good thing, his covering, and has been his confidant for over 40 years. Their union has been blessed with four children; Calvin III, Kourtney, Katrina and Carlin. In addition to this union, they have been blessed with their God sent daughters and son—Alaina, Allexus, and Christopher—and four amazing grandchildren; Jarren, Naomi, Lamar and Lucas. She is a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loves spending time with her family. Pastor Angie is a student of the Word that she preaches and teaches to God’s people. She is a prayer warrior, a mentor and life coach. Throughout the years, she has faithfully served under the tutelage of anointed spiritual leaders in the methodology of God’s Word. She earned her BA in Religious Studies from Chaminade University, Honolulu, Hawaii in 2008. Pastor Angie was ordained to the office of Elder January 2014 under the leadership of Bishop M.K. Baxter, Pastor & Founder of Cathedral of Love Church Inc., Willingboro, NJ; and she currently serves as a CO-Pastor of Great Day Ministries, Delaware under the tutelage of the Sr. Pastor & Founder, Elder Dexter Polnitz and First Lady, Evangelist Tonion Polnitz.  Pastor Angie is God’s anointed!— God sent!—- God’s Messenger!—-and God’s choice!
