FINDING PEACE WHEN YOU'RE OVERWHELMED
Week 3: Finding Peace When You’re Overwhelmed
Scripture:
“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)
Reflection:
Life can feel like a flood—responsibilities, relationships, unexpected struggles—coming all at once. When anxiety creeps in and the weight of being “everything to everyone” becomes too much, it’s easy to shut down, withdraw, or let fear take over.
But God offers a different way. He doesn't expect us to carry everything on our own. In 1 Peter 5:7, we’re invited to cast all our anxiety on Him—not just the big things, but the everyday pressures that leave us feeling stretched thin. Why? Because He cares. Deeply. Personally. Eternally.
Jesus modeled this for us. In the garden of Gethsemane, overwhelmed to the point of sweating blood (Luke 22:44), He prayed. He surrendered. And He found strength to move forward in the will of the Father.
God doesn’t promise a life without stress, but He does promise His presence, His peace, and His power when we give our burdens to Him.
Prayer:
Father, You see my heart. You know the weight I’m carrying. Today, I release it to You. Calm my anxious thoughts and replace them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help me to rest in the truth that You care for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
