HONORING GOD'S SERVANTS
Week 1: Honoring God’s Servants
Scripture Reading:
"And now, friends, we ask you to honor those leaders who work so hard for you, who have been given the responsibility of urging and guiding you along in your obedience. Overwhelm them with appreciation and love!" — 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 (MSG)
Reflection:
October is Clergy Appreciation Month—a time to recognize, uplift, and thank the shepherds God has placed in our lives. Pastors, ministers, and spiritual leaders labor tirelessly in prayer, teaching, counseling, and leading the flock. They carry unseen burdens and often pour out more than they receive.
The Word reminds us that honoring them is not optional—it is a spiritual act of obedience and encouragement. Just as Moses needed Aaron and Hur to hold up his hands in battle (Exodus 17:12), our pastors need our prayers, support, and encouragement to continue their calling with strength.
When we appreciate our leaders, we reflect Christ’s love and acknowledge that their labor is not in vain. By blessing them, we become partners in the ministry God has entrusted to them.
Life Application:
Today, take a moment to:
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the shepherds You have placed in our lives. Bless our pastors with renewed strength, peace, and wisdom. May we never take their service for granted, but continually lift them up in love, honor, and prayer. Teach us to support them as they lead us closer to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
